This article describes how you can link and unlink your account for OneDrive storage on your local device. Before following the below steps, check whether OnDrive is already installed on your device. If it is not available then install it from Official Microsoft. In the windows 10 machine, it is available by default.
Adding OneDrive Account in Device
Step 1
From the taskbar downward arrow click on the OneDrive icon.

You will get the below option, click on Help and Settings as depicted.

Then click on Settings again as shown in the below image.

You will get below screen, Go to Account Tab. Here you can perform different actions, for instance, Add an account, unlink the currently linked account, manage store, etc. As we are going to unlink the current account so click on Add an account.

Provide the email address and click on Sign in.

Enter your account’s password and click Sign in again.

Now, it’s time to locate the folder on your local device. By default, the below location will be selected whereas if you want to change the location other than C drive then click on change location and provide your new location and click on Next.
Then, it starts loading all the available files from your OneDrive cloud storage to your local device.

Click on Open my OneDrive Folder.
Then you will be able to see all your OneDrive files into your local machine.
Now, the OneDrive configuration in the local device is completed if you keep any file folder in the location you selected in the above step then it will be synced and uploaded to your cloud OneDrive. In this way, you can access your cloud files in the local machine as well as can upload your completed work automatically from the local machine directly to the cloud storage.
How to unlink your account and get your saved data on your Machine?
There can be various situations that you need to unlink your OneDrive from your PC such as you are going to leave the organization and need to hand over the PC to the company, you are going to give the current machine to another colleague, and you will be using another device and so on.
To unlink the OneDrive from your device, follow the below steps:

You will receive the message dialog as illustrated below for your unlink confirmation. Click on the Unlink account button.
Then, it will start signing out the account from this Pc and you will be able to remove your linked account from the OneDrive of your device. After a few seconds to minutes, your one drive will be disconnected from the previously connected account as depicted in the below image. Note that you can link or add multiple accounts at a time on your device as well.
